Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

The kinematic viscosity of the test substance was measured with a procedure similar to the OECD114 guideline, capillary method.

At least three determinations were performed at each temperature (20, 25, 30 and 40°C), and the average value was converted to dynamic viscosity from density, determined in the same study.

The viscosity of exo-THDCPD (JP-10) was determined as 3.076 mPa.s at 20°C and 2.094 mPa.s at 40°C.

Executive summary:

The kinematic viscosity of the test substance was measured with a procedure similar to the OECD114 guideline, capillary method.

Three determinations were performed, and the average value was converted to dynamic viscosity from density, determined in the same study.

The viscosity of THDCPD was determined as 2.739 mPa.s at 25°C.

Description of key information

The viscosity of THDCPD was stated as: 3.076 mPa.s at 20°C and 2.094 mPa.s at 40°C, corresponding to kinematic viscosity of 3.29 mm2/s at 20°C, and 2.28 mm2/s respectively.

Potential for Aspiration hazard.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An experimental study and two reliable literature sources are available, and provide consistent values. All are suitable for qualitative assessment of potential for aspiration hazard, based on low viscosity measured (below the threshold value), but the reference Wei 2010 was selected as key study, as experimental temperatures correspond to the guideline requirements.
