Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, Consumer protection directorate, Notification authority for chemicals, Bern, Switzerland
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
4.99 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
21 °C
pH:
3.6

The initially added amount of test item was 50 g per litre deionised water. All samples were filtrated before chemical analysis by HPLC using MILLIPORE AP15 glass fibre filters. The pH was measured and the concentrations were determined by HPLC.

No variation of the concentrations in the 3 respective test vessels was observed after 1, 2 or 3 days incubation at 30 ± 0.5 °C (followed by 24 h equilibration at 20.7 ± 0.3 °C), and the pH value varied between 3.7 and 3.6.

The mean value of the concentrations determined by HPLC in the 3 test vessels was 4.99 g/L (relative standard deviation, RSD: 2.0%).

The temperature in the definitive equilibration phase was between 21.0 and 20.4 °C instead of 20 ± 0.5 °C. Given the high water solubility, this small deviation is not judged to significantly impact the result of the study.

Description of key information

4.99 g/L at ca. 21 °C (OECD 105, A.6.)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
4.99 g/L
at the temperature of:
21 °C

Additional information

The water solubility of test item was determined by using shake flask method.
