Preliminary Estimation of the Water Solubility

Even in a total volume of 1000 mL undissolved particles could be observed. Thus the water solubility of the test substance is less than 10 mg/L and had to be determined using the "column elution" method.

Column elution method

The coating check was successful.

According to the guideline, the data of the fractions 1 to 17 were not taken into account for the following evaluation. The following values for the water solubility were calculated from the fractions 18 to 57 for both columns.

Result run 1 : Evaluation of the fractions 18 to 57. The average water solubility was found to be 0.1195 mg/L.

Result run 2: Evaluation of the fractions 18 to 57. The average water solubility was found to 0.131 mg/L.

The recovery rates under the applied conditions were:

Results: recovery rates: 104.5 %, 114.0 %, 103.4 %

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the test item at 20 °C is 0.125 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test item was tested according to EG-guideline 92/69/EEC A.6. in a GLP study at 20°C. The water solubility at this temperature is 0.125 mg/L.
