Conclusion on classification

According to reliable short term studies conducted on fish, invertebrates and algae 6,6'-di-tert-butyl-4,4'-diethyl-2,2'-methylenediphenol is not acutely toxic to aquatic organisms. 6,6'-di-tert-butyl-4,4'-diethyl-2,2'-methylenediphenol is not rapidly degradable, it has an experimentally determined BCF > 500 and it is poorly soluble in water. Based on these properties the substance fulfills the criteria to be classifed as Aquatic Chronic Category 4 according to the CLP and GHS criteria.
