Sampling and analysis

Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
In order to determine the substance concentration, water samples were taken from the middle of the test chamber in each case from the first and third preparation of the test after 0 and 24 hrs.

Test solutions

Vehicle:
yes
Details on test solutions:
The test substance was made into a paste using Tween 80 as solubilizing agent. Water for dilution was added and the mixture homogenized using an Ultra-Turrax and ultrasonic bath.

The concentrations tested:
1, 5, 10, 22, 50, 100 mg/l
0 mg/l (negative control)
0,095 mg/l Tween 80 (control group)

Test temperature:
Concentration groups: 21.0- 22.5 °C during course of study
Concentration controls: 21.0- 22.9 °C during course of study
pH:
Dilution water: 7.9 - 8.4
Concentration groups: 7.6 - 8.4 during course of study
Concentration controls: 7.6 - 9.7 during course of study
Dissolved oxygen:
Dilution water aerated until oxygen saturation, during course of study no aeration of the test solution.
Concentration groups:6.8 - 9.5 mg/ l during course of study; ^= >80% of the saturation value
Concentration controls: 7.0 - 9.7 mg/l during course of study; ^= >80% of the saturation value
Salinity:
see above the block "hardness"
Nominal and measured concentrations:
The 0 hrs values of each preparation were in a range of 75 - 96 % of the nominal concentration. After 24 hrs the values were in a range of 85 - 106 %.
Details on test conditions:
Semistatic test with 24 h change interval, i.e. the fishes were tranferred each 24 hrs to new test chambers. It is unkown whether the changed test solution was freshly prepared.
Test chambers: Glass, 10 l, (L 30 cm, W 22 cm, H 24 cm)
Test chambers stood in water bath made out of Hostalit ZR with plexiglass viewing panel.
Illumination: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., approx. 700 lux
