Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One key study in accordance with GLP and OECD 201 "Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test".

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
27 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
4.1 mg/L

Additional information

The effect of the test item on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been

investigated over a 72-Hour period and based on the geometric mean measured test

concentrations.

The 0-72hr EyC50 (Biomass) of test substance was calculated to be 9.2 mg/l and NOEC <4.1 mg/l.

The 0-72hr ErC50 (Growth rate) of test substance was calculated to be 27 mg/l and NOEC 4.1 mg/l.

Analysis of the test preparations at 0 hours showed measured test concentrations to range from 5.12 mg/L to 84.3 mg/L. A decline in measured test concentration was observed at 72 hours to between 1.35 mg/L and 67.7 mg/L. Analysis of uninoculated aged test preparations at 72 hours gave measured concentrations between 3.22 mg/L and 74.1 mg/L, indicating that some of the test item adsorbed to the algal biomass in the test suspensions. It was therefore considered appropriate to calculate the results based on the geometric mean measured concentrations of the 0-Hour concentrations and the 72-Hour uninoculated measured concentrations.
