Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

From assessment of similar sulphonated azo substances, there is no indication that CJ308 needs to be classified as hazardous to aquatic organisms on the basis of effects to aquatic invertebrates. Although some references, including literature, indicate a nominal figure of > 100 mg/l, the read-across candidate Reactive Black 5 recorded a, EC50of 560 mg/l. Although the side groups and types of salt could make a difference, the fact that the various substances assessed were all > 100 mg/l

The read-across is valid and is backed up by review documents, including an assessment of azo dyes by the Danish EPA that conclude low environmental toxicity to aquatic organisms
