Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
11 March 1993 to 26 March 1993
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
84/449/EEC
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The experiments were performed with amounts only twice higher than in the preliminary test. Requirement of the guideline: The study is to be performed with amounts 5 times higher than the water solubility value determined by preliminary experiments.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
209.8 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
6
Key result
Water solubility:
113 g/L
Conc. based on:
act. ingr.
Incubation duration:
24 - 72 h
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
6
Details on results:
The high percentage of inorganic salts in the test substance (see project OC 016-93) possibly influences the solubility of Reaktiv-Gelb F-68072 FW in water. Therefore it was decided to perform the experiments with amounts only twice higher than in the preliminary test. (Requirement of the guideline: The study is to be performed with amounts 5 times higher than the water solubility value determined by preliminary experiments.)

The results seem to be slightly dependent of stirring time at 30 °C. Since the repeatability is still lower than 15 % - as required by the guideline - an average can thus be calculated from the above data:
Average: 209.8 g/l
Standard deviation: 3.5 g/l
(rel. standard deviation: 1.7 %)
