Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Boiling point: ATMP-N-Oxide-5K will undergo thermal decomposition without boiling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to conduct a boiling point study for ATMP-N-Oxide-5K was waived because the substance was expected to undergo rapid decomposition without boiling. This statement is supported by the evidence from both DSC and TGA-FTIR studies which demonstrate that the anhydrous parent acid, ATMP-N-Oxide undergoes decomposition from approximately 150°C. See melting point studies reported in Section 4.2. Salts would be expected to undergo the same thermal decomposition as the parent acid.

An aqueous sample of ATMP-N-Oxide-5K was determined to have a boiling point of 376.3 K using OECD 103.

In a secondary source to which reliability could not be assigned, a boiling point value of 100°C was reported for the salt.
