Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Justification for type of information:
The Henry’s law constant (HLC) and the distribution in the environment are not calculated because of the inorganic nature of carbon black and due to the fact that as a solid material, it possess a low vapor pressure at ambient temperature nor will they become volatile from aqueous suspensions. In the atmosphere, carbon black will exist solely in the particulate phase and may be removed from the air by wet and dry deposition.

Description of key information

The Henry's Law constant is the distribution between the concentrations in air and in water. The vapour pressure of Carbon black is negligible (melting point > 3000°C), the substance is insoluble in water

Key value for chemical safety assessment
