Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The result applies to one component of the substance (degree of ethoxylation = 2).

Measurement of freezing point:

Initial value of freezing point [K]

278.8*

279.4**

278.0***

Average temperature of an initial freezing point +/- stand. Deviation, [K]

Results of measurment

Initial value of freezing point [K]

283.9*

283.9**

Average temperature of an initial freezing point +/- stand. Deviation, [K]

283.9±0.1

* / The value of an initial freezing point for the measurement No. 1 was determined for time ranging from 12 minute.

** / The value of an initial freezing point for the measurement No. 2 was determined for time ranging from 12 minute.

During the test initially the temperature of samples decreased at constant rate.

In a 12 minute reading for measurement No. 1 and 12 minute of measurement No. 2 the graph shows a marked decrease in the rate of temperature decrease. Test samples together with a reduction in rate of temperature decrease got to cloud and their viscosity increased (distinct increase in resistance to mixing).

Additional information

The data refer to measurements of substances of various single degrees of ethoxylation (EO = 2 and EO = 1). For a general ethoxylation degree of < 2.5 EO, a weight of evidence approach is applied.
