Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Methylcyclohexane (CAS No. 108 -87 -2) has the potential to volatilize to air, based on a relatively high vapor pressure, where it is subject to atmospheric oxidation. Based on a QSAR calculation for methylcyclohexane using AOPWIN v1.92, the substance is susceptible to indirect photodegradation in air. The estimated half time for the reaction with OH-radicals is 37.9 hours (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm3). Therefore, indirect photodegradation may be an important environmental fate process for this substance.
