Description of key information

A GLP-compliant study reported a COD value of greater than 1000 mg/g O2.BOD5 values of 54 and 210 mg/g O2 were reported in two support studies. Relevantis the BOD5/COD quotient which is not >0.5 , therefore, the substance is not indicative of rapid degradation.

In an hydrolysis study performed to test for abiotic degradation it was concluded that the test substance is hydrolytically stable. The substance was determined to be non-biodegradable following weight of evidence analysis. Also the adsorption to soil and sludge was tested using the HPLC method, the outcome indicates that the test substance does not sorb strongly to soil and sludge and can be regarded as mobile. The estimated rate constant at pH 4 and estimated half-life at pH 4, 7 and 9 at 25 °C of the test item are shown as: pH 4 - estimated rate constant at 250C - 1.60 X 10E-8 with an estimated half-life of >1 year.
