- Data for the definitive conclusion on the PBT or vPvB properties of triallyl cyanurate (CAS 101-37-1) are not available. Thus, the screening criteria given in the ‘Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R.11: PBT assessment’ (ECHA, 2014) are used as surrogate information to decide whether the substance may potentially fulfil the PBT or vPvB criteria.
The substance triallyl cyanurate (CAS 101-37-1), is not considered to be PBT/vPvB substances. This assessment is based on the screening criteria given in the ‘Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R.11: PBT assessment’ (ECHA, 2014). As triallyl cyanurate (CAS 101-37-1) is not biodegradable, it is considered to fulfill the P criterion as a worst case approach. The logPow is below the trigger of 4.5 for bioaccumulation ; therefore, triallyl cyanurate does not fulfill the B criterion. Triallyl cyanurate is neither classified as carcinogenic Cat. 1 A or 1B, germ cell mutagenic Cat. 1A or 1B, nor toxic for reproduction Cat. 1A, 1B or 2 according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008 (CLP-Regulation). The substance does not exhibit any other evidence of chronic toxicity and is not classified as specific target organ toxicity after repeated exposure (STOT RE Cat. 1 or 2). The effect levels for the acute aquatic toxicity of triallyl cyanurate (CAS 101 -37 -1) are above 0.1 mg/L. Since this endpoint is above the trigger, which is applied as screening information, triallyl cyanurate (CAS 101 -37 -1) does not meet the criteria for toxicity (not T).
Furthermore, all assessed components, present > 0.1% in the product, are not considered to be PBT/vPvB substances. The components are not expected to contribute significantly to the ecotoxicity of TAC.
