Overall result: Boiling with decomposition from 632 K

Discussion:

On examination of the crucible after testing, the presence of a brown stain around the periphery of the crucible indicated decomposition of the test material. Similar thermographic profiles were obtained using air and nitrogen atmospheres; this indicates that the observed decomposition in both determinations is probably thermal and not oxidative.

Conclusions:
The test material has been determined to boil with decomposition from 359°C (632 K) at 102.44 kPa.
Executive summary:

Boiling Temperature:

The test material was found to boil with decomposition from 359°C (632 K) at 102.44 kPa by differential scanning caloritry, using ASTM E537-86, Method A.2 Boiling Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 103 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

Description of key information

The boiling point of the substance was determined as 359 °C (632 K) at 102.44 kPa according to OECD Guideline 103 by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). During boiling the substance was found to decompose thermally.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
632 K

Additional information

The substance was found to decompose thermally during boiling. The boiling point (with decomposition) was determined as 359 °C (632 K) at 102.44 kPa.
