Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Type of information:
other: expert statement based on evaluation of chemical structure
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Between 07 January 2009 and 17 April 2009.
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Study conducted in compliance with agreed protocols, with no or minor deviations from standard test guidelines and/or minor methodological deficiencies, which do not affect the quality of the relevant results.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.21 (Oxidising Properties (Liquids))
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
No test was performed. Instead, the chemical structures of the constituents were assessed for the presence of chemical groups that imply oxidising properties.
GLP compliance:
no
Contact with:
other: predicted (no test performed)
Sample tested:
other: not tested
Parameter:
other: Based on the chemical structure the result for the oxidising properties has been predicted negative
Remarks on result:
not measured/tested
Remarks:
no oxidising properties predicted

Please see attachment 1 for a copy of the structure.

Interpretation of results:
other: CLP criteria not met
Remarks:
EU criteria according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008
Conclusions:
Based on the assessment of the chemical structures of each constituent, the result for the oxidising properties has been predicted negative.
Executive summary:

Oxidising Properties:Based on the assessment of the chemical structures of the constituents of the test material, the test material has been predicted to be non-oxidising, using Method A.21 Oxidising Properties (Liquids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008

Description of key information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Column 2 of Annex VII, Section 7.11, a test was not conducted and an assessment of the chemical structure was performed instead. The substance was assessed to have no oxidising properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The substance is organic and does contain oxygen atoms however the oxygen is not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen.

On the basis of the chemical structures of the constituents of the substance it was assessed to be incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on oxidising properties of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification: Based on the chemical structure the substance has no oxidising properties.
