Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The boiling point of the test substance was found to be 265°C at 101.3 kPa.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of 12-hydroxystearic acid was determined by the capillary method (Siwoloboff) method using a electronically-controlled heating system according to OECD Guideline 103, EU Method A.2 and EPA OPPTS 830.7220.

In the preliminary test, a sample of the test substance in a capillary glass tube was heated from about 26°C up to about 400 ºC with a rate of approximately 10 ºC/min to estimate phase transition (formation of steam bubbles) temperature. For the actual determination of the boiling point, the temperature rise adjusted to a maximum of 1°C/min at about 15°C before and after the predetermined phase transition temperature.

The boiling point of test substance was found to be 265°C at 101.3 kPa.
