Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Schwarz (1982) cited by Buxton et al. (1988) examined the indirect photolysis of 2,2’,2’’-nitrilotriethanol in surface water by OH-radicals. A rate constant of 1.3E-11 cm³/(molecule*s) was estimated. For calculating the half-life, a measured OH-concentration of 3.0E-18 mol/l as an average value for a water column of 14 m derived by Zepp (1987) was used. The half-life of 2,2’,2’’-nitrilotriethanol is calculated to be 342 d. At summer noons near the water surface, the OH-concentration is much higher and may reach levels up to 2.5E-16 mol/l. At such a concentration the half-life is calculated to be approximately 4 days.
