Overview on aquatic toxicity of CTC:

- Short-term toxicity to fish:

LC50 (96 h) = 24.3 mg/L for Brachydanio rerio Hamilton-Buchanan, Teleostei, Cyprinidae (OECD TG 203), study Röderer (1990)

- Long-term toxicity to fish:

NOEC = 2.5 mg/L for the zebrafish, 14 d-prolonged toxicity, flow-through (OECD TG 212); study Röderer (1990)

- Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

questionable reliability of the available data, the weight of evidence is that EC50(48h) is in the range 10 - 100 mg/L for daphnids.

- Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

NOEC = 3.1 mg/L for the daphnia magna, Daphnia magna Reproduction Test, semi-static (OECD TG 211); study Thompson (1997)

- Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, ErC50-72 = 20 mg/L, ErC10-72 = 6.3 mg/L and NOECr = 2.2 mg/L, OECD 201 (Gancet 2011)

- Toxicity to microorganisms: Pseudomonas putida NOEC = 30 mg/ L study Bringmann & Kuehn
