Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.49 °C/min, Beryllium Metal Powder showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement, beryllium metal powder remained unchanged.

Executive summary:

The purpose of the study was to provide preliminary information on the auto-flammability of beryllium metal powder at elevated temperatures.

The determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to the Directive 92/69, Publication No. L383, December 1992 and Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.16 “Relative self-ignition temperature for solids”. Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.49 °C/min, beryllium metal powder showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement, beryllium metal powder remained unchanged.
