Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Actual boiling point levels cannot be determined as the products decompose prior to boiling. Decomposition occurs at >210->300 degrees C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Actual boiling point levels cannot be determined as the products decompose prior to boiling. Decomposition occurs at >210 - >300 oC. It is the decomposition of CPs that makes them function as flame retardants and high pressure/temperature lubricant additives.

Modelled data (using MPBPWIN (ver 1.28)) on representative chloroalkane molecules have been used to characterize endtpoint given inability to test for endpoint.
