Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

EC50 > 1000 mg/kg soil dw

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
1 000 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

Two studies are available in order to determine the acute toxicity of the substance to terrestrial macroorganisms. The LC50 value in Eisenia foetida according to the OECD 207 was greater than 1000 mg/kg dry weight (Ciba-Geigy Ltd. 1991). This result was substantiated by a limit test that determined a LC50 value greater than 5000 mg/kg dry weight (Solvias AG. 1999).

According to the REACH Regulation, Annex IX, Column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from Column 1), a further soil toxicity test is not proposed by the registrant because the Chemical Safety Assessment, according to Annex I, does not indicate the need to investigate further the effects on soil organisms.
