Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Several studies on the biodegradability in water are available on CAS 16090-02-1. The substance was neither readily nor inherently biodegradable in the available studies. Studies on anaerobic degradation are available, but the resulting degradation rates are different: the reason of this difference is not evaluable.

The field study available (Poiget, 1994) conducted at a full-scale STP gave no evidence of biodegradation when the mass flow was monitored.

Monitoring data about the STPs efficacy are available and the results on the investigation about the efficacy of the STPs confirm that the substance can be removed in appreciable percentage (see the attachment).

It is assumed that the test substance would be non biodegradable in soil and sediment either.
