Description of key information
The carcinogenic potential of glycerin was examined by administrating the test material in the diet for up to two years to rats. Administration of glycerin for up to two years in the diet did not result in an increase in tumor formation.

There was no indication of a carcinogenic response in rats fed 8000 mg/kg/day glycerol in the diet for 2 years.
