Description of key information

The potential for bioaccumulation of zinc bis(2-ethylhexanoate) in the environment is most accurately evaluated by separately assessing the bioaccumulative potential of its dissociation products, zinc cations and 2-ethylhexanoic acid anions.

Zinc: Due to homeostatic control mechanisms, bioaccumulation is not relevant for essential elements such as zinc. Data indicate that the bioaccumulation potential of zinc in herbivorous and carnivorous mammals is low.

2-ethylhexanoic acid: Due to the low logPow, accumulation in organisms is not expected.
