Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on study design: HPLC method:
EQUIPMENT
- Apparatus: Fisons
- Type: Pump: 600E (Waters), injector: 717plus (Waters)
- Type, material and dimension of analytical (guard) column: Hypersil CN (Interchim) particle size 5 μm, length 250mm, inner diameter 4.6 mm
- Detection system: UV; (2487 Waters, wavelength 210 nm

MOBILE PHASES
- Type: methanol - Milli-Q water
- Experiments with additives carried out on separate columns: no
- pH: 6.40
- Solutes for dissolving test and reference substances: acetamide, methylbenzoate, naphtalene, 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene, phenantrene, DTT

DETERMINATION OF DEAD TIME
- injection of a solution of formamide was performed in duplicate (2040 ng)

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIMES injected volume: 20 μl
- Quantity of test substance introduced in the column: 104 ng
- Quantity of reference substances: acetamide 74 ng
methylbenzoate 108 ng
naphtalene 15 ng
1,2,3-trichlorobenzene 76 ng
phenantrene 36 ng
DTT 400 ng
- Intervals of calibration: before and after injections

REPETITIONS
- Number of determinations: 2

EVALUATION
- Calculation of capacity factors k': k' = (tr-t0) / t0 (t0: HPLC dead time, tr: HPLC retention timeof the items)
- Determination of the log Koc value: the log k' data of the reference items were plotted against their log Koc values
from batch equilibrum. using this plot, the Koc values determined for the reference
items were within ± 0.5 log units of the values determined by the batch equilibrum
method in the guideline and the log k' value of the test item was then used to
determine its log Koc value. (within 0.25 log units)
