Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flash point: -27.3°C (ASTM D 3828-87), -25°C (closed-cup method)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
-27.3 °C

Additional information

Flash point values of -27.3°C and -25°C were obtained for the submission substance using appropriate closed-cup test methods. The results are considered to be reliable and are used as weight of evidence. In an open-cup test method (ASTM D-92), a flash point value of <-20°C was obtained for the submission substance. The open-cup result is used as supporting data to the two values used as weight of evidence. In a secondary source to which reliability could not be assigned, a flash point value of approximately -26°C was reported for the substance.

Flash point values of -27.3°C and -25°C and a boiling point of 70.3°C indicate that the substance should be classified as a highly flammable (Category 2) liquid according to the criteria of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
