Additional information

The toxicity of the substances of the Alcohol Ethoxylates (AE) category to aquatic algae was assessed in a weight of evidence (WoE) approach based on the grouping of substances (category approach). The WoE approach combines experimental data and data derived by AE substance specific QSAR calculations. A study according to OECD guideline 201 on the long chain substance Alcohols, C16-18 (even numbered), ethoxylated, < 2.5 EO (CAS No. 68439-49-6) is still ongoing. The results of the study will be included in the present QSAR calculation once the final study report is available. The outcome of this study is expected to have an impact on the evaluation in particular of the long-chain substances. Therefore, the current assessment of the aquatic toxicity of Octadecan-1-ol, ethoxylated is considered preliminary and will be updated as soon as the final study report is available.
