Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Only one species of micro-organisms was tested , namely Pseudomonas putida, as a representative species . The NOEC determined was 10'000 mg/l and the EC50 was > 10'000 mg/l, the highest dose tested. The Assay was valid as the reference substance 3,5-dichlorophenol showed an EC50=29 mg/l, which is in the proper range of this compound.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
10 000 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
10 000 mg/L

Additional information

Although only one species of micro-organisms has been tested (Pseudomona putida) this species can be taken as representative for many if not all species, especially since the toxicity was so low that one can speak of "absence of toxicity". Even if other species are more susceptible to the substance, toxicity is unlikely to be significant, as in general this type of assay is performed up to 100 mg7l or up to the solubility limit of the substance which is 1 -2 mg/l.

It can be concluded that TGMDA is not toxic to a significant degree to micro-organisms in the range of its solubility.
