Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air, seek medical attention if
required
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for a minimum of 10 minutes, seek medical
attention
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. If signs of redness or itching
occur, seek medical attention
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting, seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and
sulphur oxides together with some hydrogen chloride gas,
metal oxides and soot. Water, carbon dioxide, foam and dry
powder are suitable extinguishing agents. A self contained
breathing apparatus may be required.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect spilt material using a vacuum cleaner and dispose
of waste by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin, wear protective gloves and apron
made of rubber. The use of chemical goggles with side
shields is recommended. Avoid dust inhalation; use a local
exhaust ventilation system or a dust half-mask respirator.

Storage: Store in a close container in a dry place away from
excessive heat and open flames.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: In order to avoid any potential risk of respiratory
sensitisation, minimise worker exposure to dyestuff in the
workplace atmosphere. Adhere to the handling
recommendations.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Treatment with hypochlorite decolourises the substance and
destroys it.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: After treatment with hypochlorite the diluted mixture may
be discharged in waste water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Small quantities maybe incinerated after mixing with large
amounts of inert material; waste gas purification to remove
sulphur and nitrogen oxides and hydrogen chloride gas
should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from dyed articles is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable for articles dyed with the substance. The
substance itself will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles dyed with the substance may be disposed of as
domestic waste.
