Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Relative self-ignition temperature:
388 °C

Any other information on results incl. tables

A small exothermic peak was detected at an oven temperature of 139 degrees celsius, at which point the sample temperature reached a maximum of 153 degrees celsius.

Beyond the exothermic peak, the sample temperature remained above the oven air temperature, eventually reaching 400 degrees celsius at a corresponding oven air temperature of 388 degrees celsius. According to the criteria of the test, this temperature is defined as the RSIT.

On inspection after the test, the basket was found to be full of black charred material, which is consistent with the sample having decomposed during the test.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The testing of HEMA-PC for auto flammability was conducted successfully. The relative self-ignitions temperature was determined to be 388 ± 5 degrees celsius.
Executive summary:

The testing of HEMA-PC for auto flammability was conducted successfully in accordance with EC Test A.16.

The relative self-ignition temperature was determined to be 388 ± 5 degrees celsius.
