Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
The respective substance/air mixture was produced by saturation of air with substance at the specific temperature. As explosion vessel a glass vessel with a specific stirrer construction was used which guaranteed a fast equilibration of the substance concentrations between liquid and gas phase. Ignition was induced by a high voltage ignition source (ignition energy ca. 10 Joule) in the gas phase (vol ca. 0.51) in presence of the substance liquid phase.
Lower and upper explosion point (extreme temperatures of explosion window) were determined by variation of the temperature. Using the temperature/vapour pressure curve the explosion limits in Vol% were calculated from the experimentally determined explosion points (in °C).
