The short and long-term aquatic toxicity to fish, invertebrates, algae and micro-organisms has been investigated for this substance.The short-term LC50 for fish (Oryzias latipes) was LC50 (96 h) 0.82 mg/L. The EC50 for micro-organisms (Pseudomonas putida) was 29.9 mg/L. The short-term EC50 for invertebrates (Daphnia magna) was(48 h) 0.089mg/L. amd values for the algae (Selenastrum capricornutum)with reported results from Growth Inhibition in Algae as EC50 (growth rate): 0.253 mg/L, EC10(growth rate) of 0.083mg/L (all based on calculated mean measured concentration). For the early-stage toxicity in fish,(Oryzias latipes), a 41d NOEC for growth is determined at 0.049 mg/L based on measured concentrations.A long-term NOEC for invertebrates (Daphnia magna) was 0.206 mg/L (21 d) based on cumulative number of juveniles produced per adult on freshwater invertebrates. However parental toxicity was determined at the higher concentrations tested. Studies conducted to examine the toxicity profile of the parent compound versus the degradation products found that the parent compound is more toxic than the degradation products.

The NOEC value derived from the long term Fish study of 0.049 mg/Lwas the point of departure for the derivation of the PNECaquatic(freshwater),PNECaquatic(marine water),and PNECaquatic(intermittent releases).The EC50 forPseudomonas putida was the point of departure for the derivation of the PNECSTP.

Based on the aquatic toxicity results the substance is classified as aquatic acute 1 and aquatic chronic 1.
