Description of key information

DINP exhibited a measured half-life in soil of approximately 51 days.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

DINP is readily biodegradable. Studies to assess the biodegradability of DINP in soil are not needed because sufficient data are available to assess its degradation in this compartments. Data from an earthworm toxicity test can be used to estimate the loss rate of DINP in soil. DINP exhibited a half-life in soil of approximately 51 days, based on the loss of parent substance.
