In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Column 2 of Annex IX, section 9.4 the need of studies on terrestrial organisms depends on the use of triallyl isocyanurate and on the outcome of the chemical safety assessment.

The PNEC soil can be assessed in a first step using the equilibrium partitioning method based on the PNEC aqua (freshwater) and the soil/water partition coefficient. The environmental concentrations were predicted in the exposure assessment and subsequently compared to the respective PNEC values. The resulting risk characterisation ratios (RCR) for all identified uses were below 1. Hence, tests on soil macro-organisms, terrestrial plants and soil microorganisms are not needed.
