Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM Method D1120
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
other: ASTM Method D1120
Boiling pt.:
110 - 160 °C
Atm. press.:
1 022 hPa
Decomposition:
yes
Remarks:
after the test substance was darker, indicating decomposition
Remarks on result:
other: Foaming which rose rapidly through the condenser

Attempts to obtain an equilibrium reflux boiling point were not successful. The test substance started to bubble at 110°C and showed significant bubbling at 130°C. At 160°C the level of foam rose rapidly through the condenser. After heating, the test substance was darker, indicating decomposition.

Conclusions:
The test substance has a boiling temperature of 110-160°C, and included foaming and decomposition indicated by colour change.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of the test substance was examined in accordance with ASTM Method D1120. Attempts to obtain an equilibrium reflux boiling point were not successful. The test substance started to bubble at 110°C and showed significant bubbling at 130°C. At 160°C the level of foam rose rapidly through the condenser. After heating, the test substance was darker, indicating decomposition. The test substance has a boiling temperature of 110-160°C, and included foaming and decomposition indicated by colour change.
