Considering the low volatilization (vapour pressure 5.45 x 10E-07 Pa) and adsorption potential (log Koc < 3) of 2,3-hydroxypropyl laurate (CAS No. 142-18-7), in combination with its water solubility value (6 mg/L), if released into the environment, the substance will tend to be mainly distributed in the aquatic compartment. Nevertheless, due to its ready biodegradability, persistence of the substance in water is not expected.
