Description of key information

Additional information

-Short-term toxicity to fish:

Key study. EU Method C.1 (Acute Toxicity for Fish).

The 96 hour LC50 of the test substance to Oncorhynchus mykiss was calculated to be 0.3 mg/l (with 95% confidence limits of 0.2 to 0.35 mg/l). LC50 (96h)=0.3 mg/l

-Short-term toxicity to daphnia:

Key study. EU Method C.2 (Acute Toxicity for Daphnia).

The 48 hour EC50 of the test substance to Daphnia magna was calculated to be 0.4 mg/l (with 95% confidence limits of 0.3 to 0.5 mg/l).

EC50 (48h)=0.4 mg/l

-Toxicity to aquatic algae:

Key study. The test was performed with procedure similar to OECD guideline 201.

Based on the average specific growth rate the 72 hour ErC50 of the test substance to S. capricornutum was observed to be 4.9 mg/l.

The no effect concentration (NOEC) of the test substance to S. capricomutum, based on the area under the growth curves, was calculated to be 1.6 mg/l. Based on the average specific growth rate the NOEC was calculated to be 2.8 mg/l

-Toxicity to microorganisms:

Key study: EEC activated sludge respiration inhibition test

The three hour EC20 value for the test substance (added as a solution in dimethyl sulphoxide) was 24 mg/l.

EC50 and EC80 concentrations could not be calculated as they exceeded the water solubility of the test substance.
