Several experimental studies on biodegradability are available.

One study was performed according to OECD guideline 301B. At a concentration of the test substance of 10 mg/l, 10.48% was biodegradable within 28 days.

In a MITI test (MITI (Japan), OECD 301C) 10% mineralisation was observed in 28 days. Additionally, primary degradation of 60% based on concentration analysis of the parent substance was shown.

QSAR results on the main component and the main impurity using the OECD 301C model implemented in OASIS Catalogic support these findings. Both components are predicted to be readily biodegradable and the potential metabolites were determined. The higher biodegradability prediction of the model compared to the experimental result might be caused by the low solubility and limited bioavailability in the experimental studies.

As worst case the substance is regarded as not readily biodegradable based on the experimental studies.

The relevant metabolites (>= 0.1%) were assessed for their relevance for the PBT assessment. None of the determined metabolites of the main component has a calculated logKow 4.5.

Four relevant metabolites for the main impurity were identified which had a logKow >= 4.5. These metabolites are expected to biodegrade fast.
