Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Data relevant for classification:

Degradation

Biodegradation: 0% of BOD (OECD 301F)

Bioaccumulation

log Kow: 0.09 (OECD 107)

Aquatic acute toxicity

For fish:                             96 h, LC50(Leuciscus idus): 184 mg/L

For aquatic invertebrates:    48 h, EC50(Daphnia magna): 170 mg/L

For algae/aquatic plants:     72 h, ErC50(Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 390 mg/L

Aquatic chronic toxicity

For fish:                             not available

For aquatic invertebrates:    not available

For algae/aquatic plant:       not available

Conclusion:

CLP:

Chronic data are not available for 2-(dimethylamino)-2-methylpropan-1-ol (DMAMP). However, the acute aquatic toxicity L(E)C50 values are > 1 mg/L for fish, invertebrates and algae, and the substance has low bioaccumulation potential. Although DMAMP is not rapidly biodegradable, the chemical safety assessment indicates no need to further investigate aquatic toxicity. DMAMP does not need to be classified and labelled as environmental hazard according to the 2ndATP of the Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP).

DSD:

The acute aquatic toxicity L(E)C50 values are > 100 mg/L to fish, invertebrates and algae. DMAMP does not need to be classified and labelled as environmental hazard according to Directive 67/548/EEC.
