Additional information

An experimental determination of the partition coefficient in the key study, was done using the HPLC Method according to EU Method A8 and OECD 117 in GLP conditions. Indeed, due to the high solubility of the test item in n-octanol, the estimation of the partition coefficient based on the ratio of the solubility in n-octanol and water can't be used as recommended in the guidelines for surface active agents. No deviation from the guidelines were observed during the test.

The partition coefficient of the test item has been determined to be 3.70*105at pH 1.8, logPow 5.57. The test item has a corrected partition coefficient of 67.3, log10 P'ow 1.83 at pH 7. The result was considered to be valid in this case as it closely agreed with the calculated estimate (KOWWIN log Kow = 5.35) and the test item was un-ionized, which generally reduces the surface activity.

The supporting study was performed following the shake flash method. This method wasn't reliable for surface active agents as this test item. Furthermore, the reliability of this study is 4. So the result of the supporting study (log Kow = 2.7) was not considered as a key value for the chemical safety assessment.
