Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

From a fugacity model (McKay Level III) based on key physical and chemical property parameters, it can be concluded that the ultimate compartments are the aquatic and air compartments. Therefore, direct and indirect exposure to the soil compartment is unlikely. 1 -nitropropane is biodegradable has no potential for bioaccumulation. Secondary poisoning is therefore not considered as relevant route of exposure for consumers and workers.

Therefore, no PNECs were calculated for oral derivation.

Conclusion on classification

According to Chapter VI of Directive 67/548/EEC, 1-nitropropane would not be classified based on the low toxicity (i.e., LC50/EC50 > 100 mg/L).
