Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Toxicity to fish:

Since no experimental data are available for Tetradecyloxirane, QSAR calculations were performed to close this data gap. QSAR calculations with ECOSAR (version v.1.00, neutral organic_ baseline toxicity) and Catalogic (version 5.11.16) indicate for Tetradecyloxirane values between 0.017 - 0.191 mg/l. The substances are covered by the applicability domaine of the QSAR tools for baseline toxicity.

Toxicity to daphnia:

Since no or no reliable experimental data are available for Tetradecyloxirane, QSAR calculations were performed to close this data gap. QSAR calculations with ECOSAR (version v.1.00, neutral organic_ baseline toxicity) and Catalogic (version 5.11.16) indicate for Tetradecyl-oxirane values between 0.018 - 0.047 mg/l. The substances are covered by the applicability domaine of the QSAR tools for baseline toxicity.

Toxicity to algae:

A new guideline studies according to OECD 201 with GLP in the green algae (Pseudo-kirchneriella subspicata) is available: The EC50 for growth rate was determined to be 0.00221 mg/l based on mean measure concentrations and 0.0322 mg/l based on mean measured concentration at the start of exposure. The NOEC for growth rate was determined to be 0.00143 mg/l based on mean measure concentrations and 0.00466 mg/l based on mean measured concentration at the start of exposure.

Toxicity to microorganisms:

No experimental results are available for tetradecyloxirane. To close this gap, data for microorganism toxicity are read across from the OECD 209 study with decyloxirane. Therefore, the EC10 and EC50 are assumed to be 36 mg/l and > 1000 mg/l, respectively.
