Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The influence of the test item Propanediol Dicaprylate on the activity of activated sludge was evaluated by measuring the respiration rate under defined conditions, according to OECD guideline no. 209.

Based on measured inhibition rates, the 3-hour EC20and EC50could not be quantified because up to the highest nominal test concentration of 1000 mg/L less than 20 % inhibition was noted after three hours incubation. A dose response at both test concentrations could not be observed. The maximum deviation in respiration rates was -10.7% at a Propanediol Dicaprylate concentration of 1000 mg/L. At all other test concentrations slight fluctuations at the zero point occurred. Nevertheless, the 3-hour EC20and EC50are clearly higher than 1000 mg/L under the present test conditions. Even if the test was not designed for a NOEC determination, the NOEC of Propanediol Dicaprylate may be established above 1000 mg/L.
