non explosive

Additional information

According to the REACH Regulation Annex VII Column 2, the study does not need to be conducted on the basis of the exothermic decomposition energy and the onset of exothermic decomposition values.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the definition set out in the CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008), an explosive substance or mixture is a solid or liquid substance or mixture of substances which is in itself capable by chemical reaction of producing gas at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings. Pyrotechnic substances are included even when they do not evolve gases. The substance is not classified because, according to exothermic decomposition energy and the onset of exothermic decomposition values, it is incapable by chemical reaction of producing gas, at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings. The substance can be considered "not flammable" and no classification is warranted under the CLP Regulation.
