Description of key information

According to structural properties, hydrolysis is not expected/probable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Hydrolysis was waived according to Regulation EC no. 1907/2006 Annex XI section 1. According to literature data of Harris (1990), Kollig et al. (1993) and Boethling & Mackay (2000) hydrolysis of the substance is not expected based on the information on the two representative constituents of MDACH.

According to Kollig et al. (1993) and Boethling & Mackay (2000), the two representative constituents of MDACH, 4-methylcyclohexane-1,3-diamine (CAS 13897 -55 -7) and 2-methylcyclohexane-1,3-diamine (CAS 13897 -56 -8) do not contain any functional groups sensitive to hydrolysis. Therefore, no study on hydrolysis is performed.
