Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed (sensitising)
Additional information:

Skin sensitization:

As per the column 2 of Annex VII of REACH regulation, the available information indicates that the substance 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid is a strong acid (pH < 2.0). Also the substance is classified as very corrosive. Thus testing for skin sensitization is not likely. Hence this endpoint was considered for waiver.

Migrated from Short description of key information:

The test substance 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid  is expected to be sensitising to skin.

Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:

As per the column 2 of Annex VII of REACH regulation, the available information indicates that the substance 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid is a strong acid (pH < 2.0). Also the substance is classified as very corrosive. Thus testing for skin sensitization is not likely. Hence this endpoint was considered for waiver.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid is considered as sensitising for the purpose of classification.
