Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Partition coefficient (OECD 117, HPLC method): Pow > 2.5 x 10E9, logPow > 9.4 at 30 °C (read-across from supporting substance '1,3,4-Thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, reaction products with hydrogen peroxide and tert-nonanethiol').
For purpose of exposure assessment calculations, a logKow of 8.0 was taken into consideration, since this value represents the maximum valid logKow value in the algorithms of EUSES or EU-TGD approach.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
8
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The partition coefficient of log Pow >9.4 (at 30 °C) was determined on the supporting substance '1,3,4-Thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, reaction products with hydrogen peroxide and tert-nonanethiol' by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) according to OECD 117 / EU Method A.8, whereby it is safe to say that the partition coefficient of the long-chain homologue '1,3,4-Thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, reaction products with hydrogen peroxide and tert-dodecanethiol’ will also be at least > 9.4.

The GLP guideline study on the closely related substance was assigned a reliability score of 2 and considered adequate for assessment as a stand alone study. For purpose of exposure assessment calculations, a logPow of 8.0 was taken into consideration, since this value represents the maximum valid logPow value in the algorithms of EUSES or EU-TGD approach.
