Additional information:

In this case report, patients were tested with a patch test. The patch tests using quinine dihydrochloride in aqueous solution were initially positive at 1 %, 0.1 % and 0.01 %, but on retesting have become negative. In result photo patch test were positive at 1% and 0.1 % quinine dihydrochloride.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Photo patch test were positive at 1% and 0.1 % quinine dihydrochloride. Quinine dihydrochloride is obviously a contact allergen.

Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:
Endpoint selection: 7.10.4
Skin sensitisation was shown in a human case report.

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

Quinine dihydrochloride is obviously a contact allergen. Based on the results quinine dihydrochloride has to be classified category 1A.
