Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid showed 50 % biodegradation in 15 days in water and 140 days in sediment. This value suggests that 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid is likely to be readiliy biodegradable in water. In sediment, it is likely to be persistent.
Executive summary:

Based on level III fugacity model the half life period of 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzene sulphonic acid was estimated.Half life period of 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid in water was estimated to be 15 days while in sediment it is 140 days.Based on these half life values it is concluded that 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid is readily biodegradable in water and but not readily biodegradable in sediment as th value exceeds the EPA criteria of 60days.However, since the diffusion of the substance in the sediment as evident from the reported data (0% in sediment) hence persistence in the sediment compartment is not likely to be critical.
